Lee Sangmin Tofu Gimbap Making with Daiso Gimbap Mold
These days, I'm into unique kimbap made with simple ingredients, not regular kimbap made with sausages, eggs, ham, and pickled radish! So I'm making a unique gimbap using various ingredients. Two years ago, Lee Sangmin came out on Sumi's side dish and introduced tofu kimbap. I happened to have all the necessary ingredients in my house, so I made it right away!

Cooking Steps
STEP 1/15
Cut a head of tofu in half and then cut it long.
STEP 2/15
And thoroughly remove the water with a kitchen towel.
STEP 3/15
Shred the cheongyang peppers into appropriate thicknesses.
STEP 4/15
Put enough oil in the frying pan and heat it up on high heat
STEP 5/15
Add the dehydrated tofu and bake until golden brown.
Place the cooked tofu on a kitchen towel to remove the grease.
STEP 6/15
Mix rice with sesame oil, salt, and sesame seeds to make rice for gimbap.
STEP 7/15
I wanted to make a pretty round gimbap, so I decided to use the Daiso gimbap mold.
Spread the rice thinly on the bottom of the gimbap mold. When you spread the rice, dig in the middle to put the ingredients.
STEP 8/15
When you're done with rice, add tofu and cheongyang red pepper on top. The point of tofu kimbap is to put in a lot of hot pepper!
STEP 9/15
Sprinkle teriyaki sauce and mayonnaise
STEP 10/15
Add the rice again and cover it.
STEP 11/15
And if you cover it and press it hard, the rice inside the gimbap is complete!
STEP 12/15
Put gimbap on the cutting board so that the hard side comes up
STEP 13/15
Place the gimbap rice at the end.
STEP 14/15
Roll it like you're wrapping it with seaweed and you're done making gimbap!
When you roll kimbap, you can make prettier kimbap because it has more adhesion if you put a little bit of water on the end.
STEP 15/15
Leave the finished gimbap for a while so that the seam goes down and then cut it with a knife!
For those who want to pack gimbap without a gimbap mold, put rice on top of the gimbap and roll it up like when making regular gimbap.
