STEP 1/44
Chuseok is just around the corner!
So, we prepared Chuseok baking!
I made chestnut manju!!!
Among the many types of bread with sediment, I made chestnut manju for Chuseok, and it's easier and fun to make than I thought ^^
Let me tell you the ingredients to prepare for Chuseok baking chestnut manju.
STEP 2/44
First, break an egg and a half and put it in a bowl.
STEP 3/44
Mix half of the egg evenly.
For the amount of half an egg, I broke one egg and mixed it to make egg water, and then I used half of it!
(Apply the remaining half of the egg mixture on top of the chestnut manju!)
STEP 4/44
I'm going to make chestnut manju dough, so I moved it to a big mixing bowl!
STEP 5/44
Add 60g of sugar and 20g of starch syrup to the egg mixture evenly mixed with 1 1/2 eggs.
STEP 6/44
And mix evenly with a rubber spatula.
STEP 7/44
Egg water, sugar, and starch syrup are mixed evenly!
STEP 8/44
Store at room temperature and add 25g of softened butter and mix well.
STEP 9/44
When I added butter and mixed it, the butter kind of mixed separately!
I couldn't mix it like the butter was completely melted
I just proceeded, but there was no problem later!
STEP 10/44
Now put 260g of flour and 8g of baking powder on a sieve.
STEP 11/44
Sift it finely!
STEP 12/44
Mix it gently with a spatula to make a heavier dough!
STEP 13/44
You don't have to make a dough that's too fine!
Make dough a lump to a certain extent.
STEP 14/44
Then cover it with plastic wrap and rest the dough in the refrigerator for an hour.
STEP 15/44
While the dough is resting, add the filling inside the chestnut manju
I'm going to split it up and make it.
STEP 16/44
Measure the white sediment into 25g and make it round.
STEP 17/44
I measured the white sediment at 500g, so I got two more sediments.
If you use 450g white sediment, you'll get exactly 18 sediments!
STEP 18/44
Wrap up the chestnut manju's filling and put it in the refrigerator for a while.
STEP 19/44
Remove enough tissue from refrigerator for 1 hour.
STEP 20/44
Measure 25g into a lump, just like white sediment, and make the dough round.
STEP 21/44
There are only 18 chestnut manju doughs.
STEP 22/44
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and keep it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
STEP 23/44
Chestnut manju dough and lumps of sediment aged well in the refrigerator
It's so cute when it's round!
Preheat the oven at 180 degrees with the upper and lower lights on
Please preheat it for 30 minutes.
STEP 24/44
Press one chestnut manju dough and spread it out thinly like dumpling skin
Put white sediment in the middle.
STEP 25/44
And knead it well so that you don't see the white sediment.
STEP 26/44
And knead well with your hands so that the entire surface of the dough is smooth!
STEP 27/44
Press the dough flat with your hands and make it cute and sharp like a chestnut.
STEP 28/44
Then, dip sesame seeds in the round part of the dough and stick them together.
STEP 29/44
The dough is moist, so sesame sticks well!
If you think sesame seeds don't stick to the batter, you can dip it in water.
STEP 30/44
I'm a mini-oven, so there are 6 chestnuts in one tray!
Pan it in the oven pan like this.
STEP 31/44
Then use one and a half eggs in the chestnut manju batter and spread the remaining half egg mixture on the chestnut manju.
STEP 32/44
Apply bread brush to areas other than sesame seeds.
STEP 33/44
If you spread the egg mixture and bake it, the color of the bread comes out golden and pretty.
STEP 34/44
Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 25 minutes with the top and bottom lights on.
The oven baking time and temperature vary depending on the temperature!
It's always good to check while looking at the bread!
STEP 35/44
The visual chestnut manju that I thought came out!
It's so, so, so cute!
It's well-done!
STEP 36/44
Transfer the well-cooked chestnut manju to a cooling net.
STEP 37/44
Manju tastes good after it's cold, but fresh ones are even better!
STEP 38/44
It's moderately sweet and soft, so I think the elderly will really like it.
The outside had a crispy texture, so it was very delicious
STEP 39/44
If you continue to bake the remaining dough, it's done.
STEP 40/44
It's like chestnuts hanging from the cooling net
STEP 41/44
It's hard to stop after eating one!
While making it, I ate it in the middle and my mom ate it, so I plated it with 14 chestnuts! ^^
STEP 42/44
I tried plating with cute dolls, too!
STEP 43/44
Golden chestnut manju So cute and pretty!
STEP 44/44
It would be great to give homemade chestnut manju as a gift for Chuseok, which is coming Chuseok!
How about wrapping chestnut manju and giving it to them as a Chuseok gift?
