Cooking Steps
STEP 1/13
First, soak dried taro stems in water for about 2 hours.
STEP 2/13
Boil the soaked taro stems. If you boil it too much, the texture of the taro stems will disappear, so boil it hard and boil it for another 15 minutes.
STEP 3/13
Once boiled, the shape definitely changed, and when you hold it, it feels softer. Now put it back in the water and soak it for about 12 hours. It's to get rid of the arin taste of taro stems.
STEP 4/13
Wash the taro stems soaked for 12 hours in cold water again and squeeze the water out.
STEP 5/13
Cut the drained taro stems into bite-size pieces. I cut it into the size of my finger.
STEP 6/13
Now it's time to stir-fry it. Grease the pan with plenty of perilla oil and stir-fry with a little minced garlic, green onions, and chopped ginger. If you add minced ginger, it definitely helps with the freshness and enhances the flavor of the food.
STEP 7/13
Stir-fry it, add taro stems, mix them together, and stir-fry them.
STEP 8/13
Then, turn to the edge and add soy sauce. Add plum extract and stir-fry it together. Plum juice also gives you a sweet taste, but it also adds a bit of flavor while relieving the salty taste.
STEP 9/13
Add dried shrimp for another texture and taste. It tastes much better than just stir-frying taro stems. The sweet taste from dried shrimp is also very good. And the soup tastes better with dried shrimp.
STEP 10/13
And pour 1/2 cup of water. Once it boils up, stir-fry it over medium heat. Stir-fry until the water is small.
STEP 11/13
When it was getting small, I added a little pepper and gave it a turn to give it a spicy taste.
STEP 12/13
There's little soup left, and it's self-made. You have to do it on medium heat. Lastly, I'm going to sprinkle sesame seeds.
STEP 13/13
The stir-fried taro stem with salty and sweet dried shrimp has been completed. The taste??? It is a vegetable that combines the taste of the crunchy taro stem and the sweetness of nature from dried shrimp.
