STEP 1/10
They say root vegetables are good for the body. I usually like it, so I often eat it as a side dish. You can make it easily with lotus roots and kelp. Peel the lotus root and cut it into bite-size pieces. Slice thinly or thickly as you like.
STEP 2/10
The lotus root turns brown quickly when cut, so put it in vinegar water for a while.
STEP 3/10
Since it's braised, it takes a long time if you don't blanch it. So I blanched the lotus root for about 5 minutes before making it.
STEP 4/10
I added water to the slightly blanched lotus root. They put in two pieces of kelp to make it taste good. Kelp is a natural seasoning, so it's good to buy plenty and use it when cooking.
STEP 5/10
I put 16 soy sauce and 16 starch syrup and boiled it over high heat. (You can add soy sauce, sugar, or starch syrup in equal amounts.)
STEP 6/10
Bring to a boil over high heat and simmer over medium heat
STEP 7/10
It's almost done.
STEP 8/10
The lotus root is slightly blanched, so it takes less time.
STEP 9/10
You need a bit of soup to make the lotus root stewed lotus roots.
STEP 10/10
Braised lotus roots are done. The crunchy texture of lotus roots is really good. It's delicious with kelp. It's good to have it as a side dish for braised lotus roots.
