Beat in 2 egg yolks slightly and add 1T of sugar and mix well. Add butter or oil.

Add milk (butter milk), vanilla extract and rum. Add the cheddar powder (flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda) and mix well.

Stir in the white and add 1T of sugar to make a meringue that is hard enough not to fall off even if turned upside down.

Mix the meringue 3 times in the yolk mixture and mix well.

Grease preheated waffle pan, pour batter, and bake back and forth for 2 minutes each. Keep the fire strong at medium low heat..
Butter milk is hard to get here, so as an alternative, mix 120ml of milk with lemon juice or half a tablespoon of vinegar. After 15 to 20 minutes, it becomes soft, so you can use it like that. Or you can just use milk or yogurt, or you can mix milk and yogurt in a 1:3 ratio.
